Skate with other beginners at a leisurely pace along the Charles river paths and the Cambrige area with an experienced skate leader. Basic striding, stopping and turning skills required. If you've recently begun skating and found other ICB group skates too difficult or intimidating, this would be the perfect skate to help you improve and graduate to those skates.

Skates, helmet, wrist guards, knee pads and elbow pads are all required.

Skaters gather at the fountain at JFK Park, Corner of Memorial Drive & JFK St., Cambridge, Mass. around 9:00 AM. Skate leaves promptly at 9:15 AM. Duration of the skate is approximately 1 hour.

Beginner skates will meet every Sunday until the end of September.

Getting to JFK Park: Take the subway (red line T) to Harvard Sq., or if driving, you can park on most streets since Cambridge's resident-only parking restriction is lifted on Sundays. We normally park on Memorial Drive (just to the West of JFK park) or Mt. Auburn St, and skate over to the park.
